Another Run Club?

2024 was the year of running content. It seems that every week on social media, you would see some new run club pop up in a new city or running brand collaborations. Strava is the new dating app (more on that in the next blog post), and when combined with social media, it is easy to see that these running clubs and influencers have exploded in the past few years. These components have led to the creation of the Small Town Runners Society (STRS).

STRS was born through scrolling through Strava and looking at all of the brands we love (Bandit Running, Satisfy, etc.), creating events in the USA, however only going to NYC and LA. While it is completely understandable why these brands only go to major cities where they guarantee a turnout and therefore increase brand visibility, there has to be something that can be done to support small cities and small towns.

Life isn’t always travel and cities, and while that’s always a joy to experience, often life is full of working with what you have. Not just making do, but truly working to create something extraordinary wherever you are. And while not always the most exciting to someone who is currently living somewhere small, it is important to take pride in where you are and to take pride in the fact that today, you got up, you worked, and you ran. You are where God wants you, and you are striving each day to make a better future for yourself and those to come.

STRS wants you to share your corner of the planet and snap a picture of your daily run and send it to us via Instagram. We will post this and allow others to see where our community lives/are from. The goal is to make a community of runners across the globe to encourage each other to KEEP GOING. We hope that as we share where on this planet you are, others will be encouraged to run right where they are! As we grow, we hope to unite those who are from the same areas (and didn’t know it) to create their own STRS communities. This will allow runners to share routes, gear tips, and unite people. We exist to unite and show off the beautiful creation that we all experience each day.
